Next big thing

Got to be this band. Cansei De Ser Sexy (Portugese for "tired of being sexy").

The coolest thing to come out of Brazil since Pelé's football boot.

Check out the hits on youtube.

They don't even get any airplay.

Totally cool.

Hack Day - Struck by Lightening

Hack Day

Hosted by Yahoo! and BBC backstage. Developers are set to work developing new apps. for the possibility of winning a prize.

Hack Day - London 2007
Alexandra Palace was stuck by lightning which blew the Wifi receptors up at about 11am.

The fire grid blew out and emergency vents in the main hall opened.

We were evacuated from the main room as rain came in.

Clumsy Cracker
As we started programming the guy next to me spilt coffee on his computer.
He had to take it to the toilets to dry the keyboard out under hand dryers.

Apart from that everything went well.

Vivé le entrepreneur

Just a quick comment on last nights.

Having a bad experience early on in life has left Simon flaky and apologetic, I'm surprised he managed to win.

In't City
In 'City' terms, Christina was the winning candidate: the confident one.

Un-zen
Successful business people are often like that, difficult to judge, it's how they find their niche, budge ahead of the flock.
When you're at the bottom people don't often see it like that. More like you're being awkward.

In 30 years we'll all be chipped.

Vivé le entrepreneur.

Moron

Was in Lloyds bank the other day when this bloke brought in a load of statements and his Hungarian identity card trying for a loan.

He had difficulty understanding, to get a loan, you need statements from your country of residence, 3 months of them.

You need bills and a passport.

fuck off
Of course the teller let them have the money anyway because we have a lending culture.

Travel Tracker Sports Mate - ttsm

This guy sent me a link the other day.

Travel Tracker Sports Mate
The domain lets you upload a GPX file directly from your GPS unit.
(GPX Visualizer)

Visualization: options like 'playback' and heart rate against time/altitude.

Prove to your mates how fast you did a journey and lets THEM see areas where you slacked it off.

Real-time visualisation
They're publishing a KML visualization of the Alp d'Huze race in France today in real-time to run on the site coincidentally with the racers undertaking the course.

As far as I know, this is an Internet first for real time visualisations.

Here's the link.

Prince Chitty

The Princes know more than anybody about the circumstances of their mothers death.
To suggest they will be affected by a television documentary is ridiculous.

News Briefing and Chanel 4

I notice that Channel 4 was the only channel to reject media briefing to lead on the big terrorist story tonight.

Doubtlessly, this will cost them their public-operators license in the long-term.

They led on the Obachiche, video below.
A story about Terrorist's being sponsored harboured and funded by the UK government.

dick?

Madalenie McCann, eye

Madalenie McCann is in a tunnel somewhere.

Everyone knows it, but no-one will tell the frantic family.

Perhaps if they were to hire their own private dick, he might be able to eventually locate her.

Here's a list of modern deskjet printers I have bought, owned and used in the past year.

Below each printer is a length of time.
This is how long these "brand new" products lasted.

The latest installation, I have taken out an additional warranty, for £40, to cover me when things go wrong, judging by past experience, they will.

Lloyds Bank Charges

Recently received a £60 fine for going overdrawn with my bank, who have refused to repay the money.

This should be an interesting case as its receiving a lot of publicity at the moment.
I'll be using the blog to document my progress.

Lloyds Bank
Moneysaving expert

Its not much in my case, but it costs £30 to go to county court plus it doesn't take £60 to write me a letter telling me I'm overdrawn.

We'll see how it goes.
