Sanya – Hainan Island

Took a bus from Haikou to Sanya, costing ?3 for a 180km journey.

Airconnned, nice views of the leafy island which is known as the ‘Eastern Hawii‘ on the way down.

Sanya
Reached Sanya expecting a foreigner metropolis.

This was not the case, so decided to move directly on to Yalong Bay, which has broad concensus as a haven for western persuits in the southern China region and as a beach resort in it’s own right.

Guilin – Wave Subduing Hill

These two shots are from the top of Wave Subduing Hill.

Reminded me of Wayna Pichu in Peru.

Watched an Italian party climb to the top.
Got to the summit in 35c heat completely breezeless, in the heat of the sun, then walked all the way back down again.

Hot and bothered and All willing to pay 5 yen for a bottle of water by the time they got to the bottom.

There are some caves and a couple of artisans. Simply follow the river north to visit this spot.
