Had enough of Cropredy.
Benefits include: Being close to the pub. Only walking distance away.

Made up towpaths. Gravelled and civilised…..
Downsides: Crap signal. Doesn’t matter where you go, your signal is patchy to non-existant.
Car vandals. Went out in car, came back, parked it up. Came out again and found a scratch horizontally across the front bumper.
It was parked in a slight lay-by area, away from any traffic moving in that direction. It looks more like a screwdriver.
Sad.
There we go.

I can touch it up and make it go away before I sell it.
Mooring in Cropredy
I did like it whilst I was there. On the moorings above the lock which are 24 hour, it’s not a bad spot. Come normal mooring regs, I don’t think I’d visit Cropredy as the downsides outweigh the benefits when you move off the restricted mooring areas.
It’s not worth it.
Anyways
Now I’m back in the land of the 4G’s (signal), solar excess, shops, supermarkets and Banbury town centre all within walking distance.
Amazon is 100 yards away.
Only downside is the state of the towpath.

It’s a mess. Not only that. You can slip on it. It makes all your clothes muddy. It makes your boat muddy. It makes your car muddy.
Just on a day to day basis, it’s a pain in the arse.
This is probably a on a good day. It gets worse than this.
I avoid it by walking over the field behind the boat if ever I need to go anywhere without wellies on. 👍
Walking across the field is something I did in Leicestershire when I was near Stoke Golding.
I’ve brought it here with me.
I’m hoping that the dampness will improve before I move down to Spiceball park.
The towpath is even worse down there.
New car
Due to the forthcoming fuel shock, and a slight stabilisation of my employment situation, I decided it would be a good time to buy a new vehicle.

vs Astra: It’s 10 years younger or so, has many more features and the fuel stats are almost 40% better.
Plus it looks better and runs better.
Has tinted rear windows and goes quite fast, although I haven’t really tested this yet as it’s an automatic. My last was not automatic. The difference and some of the unfamiliarity with all the bits and pieces has meant I’m driving slow for the moment.
I’ll update you as time goes on.
Selling
My old Astra. Astra H – 1997 – 140,000 miles – 2 Owners – £1,000.
I was the second owner for this car, and everything works on it. It’s in good condition. It runs well and has no problems.
For £1,000 or so. Book price is around £1,500 to £1,700.
If you know anyone that wants one.
You know where I am.

For the moment, it’s parked at my mums (in a secure area).
