Crofton Meadows -> Great Bedwyn

Due to the immense noise of the trains, I’ve moved further on down the lines, to somewhere called Bedwyn.

Great Bedwyn.

I arrived here on Thursday. Spent today just settling in and relaxing.

Have bought some more led lights for the boat.

Went down to the Post Office to pick them up. Turns out they hadn’t arrived.

Going to do some work again tomorrow. Maybe update this post a bit and add a few photo’s. Continue reading “Crofton Meadows -> Great Bedwyn”

Wolf Hall -> Crofton Meadows

Not far from Crofton lies Crofton Meadows…..

I am now located there, as detailed in my video, the local diary farmer had some issues with my using the lane.

Not a problem.

Crofton Locks

I have moved on. Through the locks at Crofton.

It’s a genuine steam engine, and listed building that houses it. Continue reading “Wolf Hall -> Crofton Meadows”

Brimslade -> Wolf Hall

From the middle of no-where… further toward…. no-where.

The sounds of the trains have died away… there are no more owls….. replaced by cows.

Not flying that is…

So quite….

Things are very quite here, the broadband is quite good.

I’m on the allinone25 package from 3.

This gives me unlimited data on my phone for the month.

I’m connecting with that at the moment and it’s giving me this speed.

Speed in Wolfhall

More or less 1MB per second.

I’ve just been watching Martin Lewis money saving expert on it.

Nice home

I’m finding it a lot more comfortable.

SO much so, I’ve made a video. Continue reading “Brimslade -> Wolf Hall”

My first Zander

Was fishing yesterday in the deep basin behind my boat.

It’s quite a wide expanse of water, with a couple of piers for boats, then leading down to the lock.

After throwing a bit of groundbait out, I sat down, turned on the radio and cracked open my beer.

After a couple of minutes, the old float started bobbing around.

Fishing on bread.

Pulled this out.

It’s a perch-pike or Zander.

Baby zander

Tiny little chunk.

It’s like a Goby.

Tiny….

You can see it here on my coaster.

Put him back and he swam off.

Maybe one day he will grow up big and strong.

Wotton Rivers -> Brimslade

Tiny place, based around Brimslade farm.

Mostly in the woods in the middle of no-where.

Apart from the trains that come past and toot their horns, it’s all pretty quite.

Brimslade doesn’t even have it’s own road. That’s how rural it is.

Broadband signal is good.

Brimslade

  • Parking
  • Broadband

That’s about it.

There’s some private moorings on the left here as you can see. With some Dutch barges moored up.

It’s not far here to the next stop. Burbage.

Technically the next neighbourhood.

Communications here are quite good. Burbage is on a main road, which has cut journey times to work down significantly.

The only other thing to recommend it are the amount of pheasants wondering around on the roads, which make good roadkill.
