Day 29 – Dunham Massey to Marston

I’ve just been assaulted by a guy driving a bright pink sports car.

He appeared feeding the ducks. As I passed, he shouted “hey dickhead”, I of course ignored him.

Then he started shouting it more, so I turned around, to see this guy in a woolly jumper and duck food in his hand making kind of squatting motion with his legs, like a football hooligan and shouting obscenities…

I flicked him the finger and drove on.

Next thing you know, he’s pulled up at the next bridge in this bright pink Ferrari or kit car it looked like.

He was walking down and it started again.

I thought he was going to drop something off the bridge on me…. some Unilever dust fell off his shoulder, or there was something on there making him a bit batty.

Anyway, he was saying “stop”, let’s sort this out jump off, “let’s go”.

I said “no”, and told him he was overweight and something else.

Anyways, as I disappeared down the canal, he jumped in his sports vehicle. Revved it up and left. Continue reading “Day 29 – Dunham Massey to Marston”

Viewranger mapping app

Today, I’m going to be using Viewranger route tracking app for Android.

Due to the limitations of Googlemaps, I’m going to find something which will store and record the routes that I’ve taken, does the maths, and plot the graph for me.

Maps has a limit for the online version. I can only add a certain amount of content before it tells me I’ve exceeded the given number of separate additions to the one map.

So, I’m trying something new, and tonight’s map will be done with Viewranger, (hopefully).

Day 28 – Plank Lane to Dunham Massey

Having to wait for Plank Lane is a real pain in the ass.

Getting a 2 o’clock start allows me to get through Manchester. Just.

A morning in Leigh

I spend the morning fishing in the Leeds and Liverpool and reading my book.

The fishing ain’t bad. Nothing large, but a steady stream.

Plank Lane

On reaching Plank Lane bridge, there are four other boats heading South and four heading North.

Once through, it’s about 20 minutes into Leigh.

One of the boats in front pulls in to the pub, the other pulls over. Continue reading “Day 28 – Plank Lane to Dunham Massey”

Day 27 – Crooke to Plank Lane

Crooke
Starting point

Plank Lane bridge is still closed.

That means it’s not operational. As the Canal and River Trust website tells me, it’s still only open every day once, at 2pm.

Wigan Locks

I make my way through Wigan Locks.

Stop at Asda superstore to do some much needed shopping, then finish off the locks.

Don’t meet any boats on the way through.

Wigan pier

Site of industrial commerce and activity, the pier now lays derelict. The only patrons making use of it being the pigeons. Continue reading “Day 27 – Crooke to Plank Lane”

The anti-Blair cometh….

tony-blair
And all shall worship him.

NO WMD….?

NO ‘greater Israel project‘….?

I watched the BBC world service in Morecambe 2 days ago, and someone on the ground at the time of the incident came on and started giving a live account.

“everyone on the ground and witnessed the event agreed, the vehicles all burst into flames at the same time”.

Almost immediately, he was cut off.

The BBC re-iterated the BBC line, ie. that it was Russia, or Syria. It was an air strike.

When they tried to get the guy on again, his sound had been cut out. It was not possible to talk to him any further about what he had witnessed first-hand at that event.

Bullshit.

Haters be hatin’

  • In the Jeremy Corbyn re-election.
  • In the Brexit vote.
  • In the Trump vs Clinton election.

All these MASS MEDIA orchestrated HATE campaigns:-

  • We all know how scary and bad Brexit was….. It happened anyhow……
  • We all know how bad a person Jeremy Corbyn is…… Re-elected anyhow…..
  • We all know what a dangerous neo-nazi fascist Trump is…… remains to be seen…..

As a general rule of thumb, I’d say if people hate you, you’re doing something right.

If the media and establishment hate you too

You’ve got to be the best person ever!

Kind of ‘anti-Blair’.

Bring it on….
